The James Webb Space Telescope has taken its first look at the near-Earth asteroid 2024 YR4 before a perilous close approach in 2032. The telescope confirmed Earth is safe, but there is a 3.8% chance that our moon may be in trouble.
The near-Earth asteroid 2025 BC10 will pass safely near our planet on Saturday (April 5). The Virtual Telescope Project will livestream views of the asteroid's close approach online.
Astronomers have gotten a glimpse of the "city-killer" asteroid before it disappears until 2028, according to NASA.
