Oct 6 (Reuters) - Iran's Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani, who travelled to Lebanon after the killing last month of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike, has not been heard from since strikes on Beirut late last week, two senior Iranian security officials told Reuters.

A top Iranian military leader who oversees dealings between Tehran and groups like Hezbollah has not been heard from since an attack that killed a Hezbollah official last week.

According to reports, the Israeli airstrikes in Beirut's southern suburb Dahiyeh were targeted at Hashem Safieddine, the successor to slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. Esmail Qaani was also reportedly present in Dahiyeh at the time.
