Three members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Arson/Explosives Detail were killed Friday morning in an explosion at a training facility in East Los Angeles, authorities said.

Three people died Friday in an "incident" at a police training facility in Los Angeles, the US government said, with media reports saying there had been an accidental explosion.

Tragically, she said, three members of the department died.

The Los Angeles Police Department says they are investigating the crash as an intentional act, saying the driver made a U-turn before slamming into the crowd.

A vehicle rammed into a crowd of people waiting to enter a nightclub along a busy boulevard in Los Angeles early Saturday, injuring 30 people.
