The “Sense and Sensibility” star says President Donald Trump called her to ask her out on a date, while she was on the set of the 1998 film “Primary Colors.” Speaking to an audience at the Locarno film festival in Switzerland on Saturday, Thompson said the then-real estate magnate called her on the day her divorce from Branagh was finalized.

Emma Thompson revealed that she might have been the present Mrs. Trump a few years back if she had not turned down a romantic gesture.

On Friday, August 8, the Sense and Sensibility actress, 66, spoke at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where she was honored with the Leopard Club Award. Thompson recalled how the POTUS asked her out the same day she finalized her divorce from Kenneth Branagh.
