Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer and Framber Valdez tossed six shutout innings, and the Houston Astros beat the Chicago Cubs 2-0.

Valdez started his streak in a 9-1 road win against the Milwaukee Brewers on May 7 that saw him give up three hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings. The Astros entered that day one game under .500 at 17-18 and four games out of first place in the AL West.

The lefty, who is a free agent at the end of the season, is now tenth all-time in strikeouts after a six-strikeout afternoon on Sunday.
