Translink say they expect trains to start running at Belfast’s new Grand Central Station in 10 days.

Translink has indicated when trains will start using Grand Central Station for the very first time. The bus-and-rail body said that it has “preliminary plans” to start rail services on Sunday, October 13. This will see the rail line between Belfast and Lisburn reopen for passenger services.

The inaugural Enterprise train service travelled from Belfast to Dublin steamed off at 10.30am on 11 th August 1947. Operated by Great Northern Railway (Ireland), it was a prestige seven-carriage steam train aimed mostly at those travelling for business, with first class accommodation, catering, extra leg room and lavatories.
