It took a photo finish to determine the men's winner of the 2025 New York City Marathon. Despite posting the same finishing time, Kenyan Benson Kipruto narrowly beat out country-mate Alexander Mutiso Munyao to win the event. Both runners finished with a time of 2:08:09, with Kipruto finishing .16 seconds before Munyao.
