Ronald Schmidt was upset at his daughter-in-law, 45-year-old Christine Moyer, because of divorce paperwork filed against his son, Schaumburg police said. The 76-year-old shot Moyer once in the head on July 25, police said. He was held at the scene by a bystander until authorities arrived, according to officials in a July 27 news release.
