Ohio State received top billing in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season Tuesday, followed by Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama. The top three head into the final four weeks of the regular season undefeated. Another team with no losses, BYU of the Big 12, was ranked seventh.
According to CFP’s metrics, Indiana had the lowest strength of schedule in the field (No. 90) behind Boise State (No. 88). Their opponents' cumulative record at 57-83 (No. 130) and their all-conference opponents' record at 48-60 (No. 114) was also the lowest in the field.
