The White House has hit out at a “leaked” intelligence assessment that the US had failed to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites in its weekend strikes, in remarks that dismissed the findings as “wrong” but appeared to acknowledge their authenticity.

Iran has fired a salvo of missiles and drones at Israel, while warning the United States that its military had been given a “free hand” to attack American targets as well. Monday's salvo comes
