As part of this year's Beyond Fest, the stars and director of the 1994 movie reunited after a screening to discuss the making of an unexpected action classic.

“ Speed ,” starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, earned raves from critics and topped the box office, grossing $350 million worldwide after it was released in June 1994 and winning Oscars in 1995 for best sound and sound effects editing.

Keanu Reeves joined Sandra Bullock to lead a 30th anniversary screening of their 1994 action thriller “Speed” at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday.

"We knew we were doing something wacky," Reeves, 60, said of making the movie in which he portrays a police officer trying to prevent a bomb from exploding on a city bus – driven by a passenger named Annie (Bullock) – by keeping the speed above 50 mph.

Bullock and Reeves shared the Egyptian Theatre stage with filmmaker Jan de Bont and moderator Jim Hemphill for a lively 50-minute conversation to mark the 30th anniversary of 'Speed.'

Speaking at a Q&A alongside Keanu Reeves and the filmmaker himself (via THR ), Bullock addressed the notion of whether a third Speed film is possible, first joking that it would be “the geriatric version,” and that it wouldn’t be so fast. But then she offered a more sincere outlook, saying:
