A powerful tornado barreled into Lake Village, Indiana Tuesday night, killing at least two people. The twister injured several others, destroyed homes and snapped power poles in what first responders called "total devastation.

A secondary search in Lake Village, Indiana, confirmed two elderly residents died in the tornado, with 10 injured and many homes damaged.

Gov. Mike Braun had an aerial survey of the storm damage around Lake Village, in which two people died, Thursday afternoon.

The Newton County Coroner's office said Edward L. Kozlowski, 89, and his wife Arlene Kozlowski, 84, were killed when a tornado struck their home in Lake Village, in northwestern Indiana. The couple appeared to have been killed by blunt force trauma, the coroner's office said, and an autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
