Pakistan continued to fight on Day 4 but eventually succumbed to South Africa’s massive first-innings advantage.

South Africa comfortably defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the second Test at Newlands on Monday, chasing down a modest target of 58 runs to win the series 2-0.

South Africa tailenders Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen hung in against relentless fast bowler Mohammad Abbas for a tense two-wicket win in the first test on Sunday that sealed the Proteas' place in next year’s World Test Championship final.

Masood got to his century with a flick off Jansen and celebrated with a glance skywards. Babar seemed set to follow him but slashed at a slower Jansen ball and edged to Bedingham at slip, to give him his fifth catch of the day. Though Babar fell short of a century, he scored 108 runs in the day - 27 overnight and 81 in the second innings.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood continued to defy South Africa as the tourists cut down the deficit to 109 runs on the fourth day of the second and final test.
