Nearly a decade after his debut, Nicholas Pooran has announced his retirement from international cricket. “This was very difficult, but I have thought long and hard about this,” Pooran said via an Instagram post.

West Indies head coach Daren Sammy reacted to Nicholas Pooran's sudden retirement, stating that he expects more cricketers to follow suit. The former cricketer also thanked Pooran for informing the management early and not during the T20 World Cup 2026.
