The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has blocked the execution of convicted El Paso 'Desert Killer' David Leonard Wood, amid lack of DNA evidence.

David Wood, 67, was sentenced to death in 1992 for the killing of six woman and girls in El Paso, Texas. He has spent nearly 33 years on death row for the crimes.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted an indefinite stay of execution to David Leonard Wood, convicted of six murders in 1987, just days before his lethal injection date.
