One Kentucky county hasn't had a working tornado siren in 15 years, but hands out weather radios instead.

Kentucky’s Statewide Tornado Drill will take place at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday, with sirens sounding in Fayette County as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.

The NWS Louisville Office has issued a Tornado Watch until 6 p.m. for several Kentucky and Indiana counties. While all severe hazards, including spin-up tornadoes and hail, are possible today, damaging straight-line winds will be the primary severe hazard.

Kentucky’s annual statewide tornado drill will take place Wednesday at 10:07 a.m., with test warnings and sirens sounding across communities including Lexington.

Residents across the Commonwealth are encouraged to practice their safety plans this week as Kentucky conducts its 2026 Annual Statewide Tornado Drill.
