AAA is forecasting record-setting travel for the Fourth of July weekend, with 72.2 million Americans expected to travel domestically. Most of the holiday travel will be by car, with people taking road trips of 50 miles or more.

A record number of travelers are expected this July 4 week. According to AAA, 72.2 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home through Sunday, July 6, throughout the U.S. Most of those travelers—61.

Seattle was ranked as the second-best Fourth of July travel destination in a new list created by AAA based on its travel booking data.
