Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera scored half-centuries to guide Sri Lanka to a nine-wicket win in the third and final Twenty20 international and clinch their first-ever series victory over the West Indies.

Kusal Mendis hit an unbeaten 68 to help clinch Sri Lanka's first Twenty20 international series win over the West Indies with a thumping nine-wicket victory in the third and final game Thursday. Sri Lanka chased down their 163-run target with 12 balls to spare as a sell-out home crowd in Dambulla erupted.

Chasing 163 runs, the West Indies were bowled out for 89 in the 17th over, handing the hosts their largest win by runs against the West Indies.

Openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis scored half-centuries and shared a 107-run stand in 55 balls to guide West Indies to a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first of their three Twenty20 matches.

As the T20I series between West Indies and Sri Lanka comes to it's closing stages, the two teams are tied with one win each and thus it is all to play for in the final game of the series. The first T20I was won by West Indies as they took a 1-0 lead in the series.

West Indies faced a top-order collapse and failed to utilise powerplay overs in the run chase as they were bowled out for 89 in Dambulla.

Sri Lanka stormed back to level the three-match T20 series with an emphatic 73-run win over the West Indies on Tuesday, marking their largest ever margin of victory against the Caribbean side. The dominant performance at Dambulla was Sri Lanka's sixth-largest T20 win against any team,
