Unlike the United Torah Judaism (UTJ), the Shas party said on Wednesday it would remain within Netanyahu-led coalition for now, giving the government more time to resolve a thorny dispute over military conscription.
The ultra-Orthodox party Shas and United Torah Judaism have exited Israel's ruling coalition. The departures, attributed to disagreements over military service, pose significant challenges for the Israeli government.
The UTJ lawmakers said their walkout would come into effect after 48 hours, giving Netanyahu two days to try and resolve the crisis which has dogged his coalition for months.
