But that doesn’t explain the supposedly less appealing taste. So what gives?

Chick-fil-A announced on its website that its waffle potato fries are now made with a new recipe, but many customers say they prefer the old version. The change purportedly means the fries are crispier.

Chick-fil-A officials said the slight adjustment helps the fries stay crispier for longer. The new recipe does not include any of the nine major allergens. The new coating does contain pea starch, WSB-TV reported.
