DPS said the driver traveled for about 12 miles on the rim before stopping along Interstate 10 near Tucson.
Eastbound Interstate 10 reopened south of Chandler on Sunday after an early-morning closure due to a crash, according to ADOT.
The westbound lanes are not impacted.
This is the same part of Interstate 10 that was restricted March 16 due to a hole in the bridge.
