No. 1 Michigan men's basketball fell to Wisconsin 91-88 on Saturday, Jan. 10, handing the Wolverines their first loss of the 2025-26 season

John Blackwell, Nick Boyd and Aleksas Bieliauskas combined for 65 points to lead Wisconsin to a 91-88 upset of No. 2 Michigan, the Wolverines first loss of the season.

Michigan owns the Upper Peninsula because of bad maps, political power plays, and one of the strangest conflicts in U.S. history. In the early 1800s, Congress used inaccurate maps to draw borders, accidentally sparking a standoff between Michigan and Ohio over a narrow strip of land near Toledo.
