PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on some roads.

PennDOT has temporarily reduced the speed limits on roads across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania due to the wintry weather.

CBS News Philadelphia Chief Investigative Reporter Joe Holden was in Springfield, Delaware County, where he checked in on how the area is holding up during the first snowstorm of 2025 in the Philadelphia area.

Though PennDOT officials say it would be best to stay inside Monday, they have pre-treated roads and highways that might be impacted most during the winter snow storm to come overnight Monday.
