Philadelphia broadcasting legend Harry Donahue has died after a battle with cancer. He was 77. He was a fixture on KYW1060 news radio for 35 years. Many remember his voice giving school closing numbers during the morning drive.

Benita Valente, 91, a revered lyric soprano whose voice thrilled listeners with its purity and seeming effortlessness, died Friday night at home in Philadelphia, said her son, Pete Checchia. In a remarkable four-decade career, she appeared on the opera stage, in chamber music, and with orchestras.

Remains were found on Oct. 18 in a shallow grave near an abandoned middle school. The remains were later identified as Kada Scott's.

Antonio Rodriguez, a member of The Philadelphia Fire Department for 18 years, has been identified as the man who was found dead in a home in Holmesburg. Police have arrested the victim's relative in connection with the case.
