On Tuesday night, the Sixers' road contest against a young Wizards team went from excruciating to euphoric. There were many heroes.

Despite the shuffling, not much will change for Sixers fans. Sixty nine of the team’s 82 games will air on NBC Sports Philadelphia (seven on NBC Sports Philadelphia+), with Kate Scott and Alaa Abdelnaby back to call all the action.

Who knows whether these early surprises will continue to, well, surprise. But a few games are a big enough sample size for three members of The Athletic NBA staff to highlight these eye-openers and discuss what they may mean going forward.
