The Arizona Wildcats (43-19) defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels in the second game of the Chapel Hill Super Regional at North Carolina on June 7.

The Arizona Wildcats (43-19) are one win away from the College World Series, but to get there it has to beat the North Carolina Tar Heels (46-14) in Game 3 of the NCAA Baseball Tournament’s Super Regionals.

Arizona scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to rally past North Carolina, 4-3, and advance to the Men's College World Series.

After a dynamic Game 1 and a rocky Game 2, the UNC baseball team, led by Scott Forbes, took the field at home in Boshamer Stadium for a decisive Game 3. Holding the lead for the majority of the game, an error by the Tar Heels captain allowed an inning to continue and eventually lose the game for UNC, 4-3, ending their 2025 season.

The No. 5 seeded UNC baseball team (46-15) fell to Arizona (44-19), 4-3, on Sunday afternoon in Boshamer Stadium, eliminating the Diamond Heels from the NCAA baseball tournament.
