Savannah Guthrie is going to keep things going after Hoda Kotb exits the Today show. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Gala on Thursday, Oct. 10, the broadcaster, 52, revealed that she will hold down the fort when her beloved co-host, 60, departs next year.

In early September, Hoda Kotb took her daughters to their first day at a new school. “I carried a coffee and I had sneakers [on,] and I walked my kids to school like normal people,” Hoda, 60, gushed on air.

With Hoda Kotb set to leave the Today Show, it likely created speculation about issues with her colleagues or the network. However, the Today anchor recently shared insight into her reasons for quitting after 17 years with the morning program.
