Israel unleashed airstrikes across Iran for a third day and threatened even greater force as some Iranian missiles evaded Israeli air defenses to strike buildings in the heart of the country.

Emergency services say ten have been killed in Israel, while Iranian state media have given little information about casualties in Iran.

The Israeli military struck "over 170 targets" in Iran in three days, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday.

The Israeli military said it hit an Iranian refueling aircraft at Mashhad airport in eastern Iran. It said it was the longest-range strike it has conducted since the beginning of the operation at 2,300 kilometers from Israel.

Iran has asked Cyprus to convey "some messages" to Israel, President Nikos Christodoulides said on Sunday, adding he expected to speak to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later in the day.He did not say who specifically the messages were from or what they said,

Missiles and projectiles were seen in the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv early on Sunday as Tehran unleashed a fresh attack on Israel which in turn launched an expanded assault on Iran.

Israel’s military said it shot down 20 drones en route to Israel on Sunday. It comes after it reported striking 80 targets in Iran overnight, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense and the headquarters of the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research,
