Christie spent countless hours with Sabonis over the past three years as his player development coach. Christie has watched Sabonis improve his 3-point shooting dramatically from 23.5% in his first season with the Kings to almost 48% this season while doubling his volume.

It’s rare to see an NBA big man known for his 3-point shooting, but Kings center Domantas Sabonis is adding himself as another exception to that narrative with his marksmanship. The Sacramento star is knocking down triples at a 48.

That outing extended his double-double streak to 19 consecutive appearances. Sabonis is averaging 20.5 points, 15.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists across 35.5 minutes per game over that stretch. He’s recorded a double-double in all but two games this season,
