It appears the Atlantic will stay storm free through week three of the hurricane season, with no development expected in the week ahead.
The first hurricane in the Pacific doesn’t typically arrive until the last week of June. Three have been named so far this season.

The 2025 hurricane season is off to a busy start in the Eastern Pacific, with three tropical cyclones already having developed before a single named system has formed in the Atlantic, which could be an indicator of what lies ahead.
The National Hurricane Center is watching two areas of interest along the eastern Pacific. Previously, the first hurricane of the season in that area, Barbara, formed but quickly weakened. The NHC was also tracking Tropical Storm Cosmo, which has also been downgraded to a post-cyclone.
