Katherine Legge’s return to NASCAR’s Cup Series was supposed to be a historic moment. As the first woman to compete in the Cup Series since Danica Patrick retired in 2018, there was plenty of excitement surrounding her debut at Phoenix Raceway.

Katherine Legge didn’t accomplish her goal of finishing the NASCAR Cup Series Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway, but she still made history as the first woman to pilot NASCAR’s Next Gen car introduced in 2022.

Her debut will be in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Katherine Legge will make her NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. This is the first time a female driver has started a Cup Series race since Danica Patrick competed in 2018.
