The president and the pontiff's Trump-loving sibling Louis Prevost had a "great meeting," said the White House.

After Pope Leo XIV was elected pontiff by the College of Cardinals, President Donald Trump posted on social media, “It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope. What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!”
