On President Donald Trump’s first day in office, his administration overturned a long-standing policy protecting religious centers from immigration enforcement.

Twenty-seven religious groups have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its policy change giving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents the authorization to make arrests at places of worship and other “sensitive areas.

After taking office, President Trump rescinded a policy that instructed immigration agents to steer clear of sensitive locations like churches, schools and hospitals.
