India captain Shubman Gill hit his fourth century of the series against England to give the visitors hope of salvaging a draw on the final day at Old Trafford.

Shubman Gill had never previously batted more than 243 minutes in the second innings of a Test, and his Old Trafford vigil has now already gone past five hours.

Sunil Gavaskar had achieved the feat twice, both times against West Indies, in 1971 and 1978, while Kohli got four tons during India’s tour to Australia in 2014/15.
