When you enable it, ChromeOS brings up an on-screen keyboard when you select a text field. While it comes in handy during specific situations, appearing out of nowhere can confuse and irritate you.

Android On Pixel phones and many other Android handsets, the default keyboard is Gboard. When it pops up on screen, tap the mic icon (far right) to enable voice typing, and you can start talking.
