Authorities say an active investigation is underway as dozens of dogs were removed from a Peoria home on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they have removed over 60 dogs from a Peoria home, and also discovered three dead dogs at the residence.

After more than a hundred visits to a Peoria home, investigators were able to rescue more than 60 dogs on Tuesday, the police department said.
