Monday, Sept. 1 is a federal holiday and most federal, state and local government offices are closed in observance of Labor Day, as are many other businesses, services, including the stock market and post offices. This year, Labor Day falls on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, with the long three-day weekend starting off on Friday, Aug. 29.
