NEWARK, N.J. — Stefan Noesen scored a power-play goal in overtime as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Lightning 3-2 on Saturday night. Noesen got his 17th goal 3:19 into the extra session with Nick Paul in the penalty box for tripping. The Devils had the only five shots on goal in overtime.

It’s been a little bit of time since our last New Jersey Devils stock up/stock down, and unfortunately, results haven’t improved since their six game road trip.

Scoring goals wasn’t an issue anyone anticipated the New Jersey Devils to have this season. And to be fair, it wasn’t to start. However, the Devils have recently fallen from grace, and their goal scoring ability has gone with it.

Devils coach Sheldon Keefe’s message to his team after one of their best periods of the season was to keep up their pressure, but not get too overconfident since they still had not scored and the game wasn’t over.

Tonight, the Devils made it four consecutive games to reach extra time, and they made it yet another loss in a 4-3 overtime defeat in Toronto against the Maple Leafs. In reality, New Jersey was probably lucky to get a point out of this game.
