The Arizona Diamondbacks picked 17 players on the second day of the Major League Baseball 2025 Draft—including one Arizona State University baseball player and one player from the University of Arizona.

The Trump administration froze the education funding because a spokesperson said the money had subsidized "a radical left-wing agenda."

Arizona and nearly two dozen other states are taking the Trump administration to court over its decision to freeze more than $6.8 billion in public education funds, which they warn will cause schools across the country to lay off teachers and shut down critical programs.

The lawsuit comes two weeks after the Trump administration first notified states it was withholding previously approved funds for migrant education, before- and after- school programs and more.
