Arizona's governor has demanded an investigation into why a wildfire that destroyed a historic lodge and dozens of other structures on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was allowed to burn for a week before federal firefighters tried to put it out.

The Dragon Bravo Fire is the largest to affect the park in recent years, surpassing the Gold Hill Fire in 2023.

The Grand Canyon Lodge and other buildings were destroyed by the Dragon Bravo Fire, which began as a controlled burn overseen by the National Park Service.
