SAN JOSE – Crews on Tuesday afternoon were battling a tier 3 brush fire in East San Jose, fire officials said. The blaze, dubbed the Ranch Fire, was reported just after 4 p.m. in the 3500 block of Ranch Place, according to the San Jose Fire Department. Cal Fire air support is en route.

A major brush fire at Schofield Barracks burned 570 acres but is 50% contained as the U.S. Army and federal firefighters continue to extinguish the blaze.

Dozens of firefighters have extinguished a brush fire that broke out near 19th Avenue and Cholla Street in Phoenix early Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters tackled a 2-acre brush fire on Tuesday evening in Cheney, reminding neighbors in the area to be prepared as wildfire season rolls in.

Firefighters extinguished hotspots and reinforced control lines on the south, east and mauka flanks of the fire on June 17. The fire is 95% as of 7 p.m. The fire was contained to 93% as of 7 p.m. on June 16 and officials lifted evacuation orders as well due to the increased fire containment.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Firefighters have contained a brush fire in the 2900 block of W Thorpe. According to Justin de Ruyter, Spokane Fire Department Public Information Officer, the fire, which covered an estimated 3-5 acres, is considered suspicious at this time.
