SAN JOSE – Crews on Tuesday afternoon were battling a tier 3 brush fire in East San Jose, fire officials said. The blaze, dubbed the Ranch Fire, was reported just after 4 p.m. in the 3500 block of Ranch Place, according to the San Jose Fire Department. Cal Fire air support is en route.

A major brush fire at Schofield Barracks burned 570 acres but is 50% contained as the U.S. Army and federal firefighters continue to extinguish the blaze.
