Protesters demonstrating against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, arrests, and detention conditions have at times clashed with law enforcement. Last month, a woman was shot by federal agents in Chicago after DHS said their vehicles were boxed in by other cars.

CHICAGO - A 36-year-old man was found shot to death on the city’s South Side late Friday night. The shooting happened in the 900 block of W. 63rd Parkway in Englewood, according to the Chicago Police Department. Officers responded to the scene around 10 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the neck and head, police said.
