Google is testing how its large language model can answer questions about sleep, activity and more through Fitbit Labs.

Google has launched Fitbit Labs, a new feature that allows you to test experimental health features powered by Google’s Gemini AI. It features an Insights Explorer tool that provides personalized insights by evaluating fitness data and responding to your inquiries.

The test is to see how well Gemini can "understand" a user's personal health questions from Fitbit data. Gemini's purpose in the Insight Explorer is to give users "personalized answers" about the various pieces of data Fitbit keeps a record of.

Fitbit ’s much-anticipated AI chatbot powered by Google Gemini was first revealed back in October of last year at the Google Pixel 8 event. It's been a long wait for the AI health tool, which lets you ask Gemini about your workouts and general health, but users won’t have to wait much longer, as the chatbot is beginning public testing.

Google completed the acquisition of Fitbit back in January 2021 for $2.1 billion. Since the acquisition, Google has been using its expertise and technology for the betterment of its Pixel Watch. Earlier this year,
