Saif Musallet was just weeks away from celebrating his 21st birthday when he was beaten to death by Israeli settlers when visiting his family in the West Bank. The Florida native’s family has called on the US government to investigate.

The liberal Israel lobby J Street also called for a US-led investigation into the death. The family of a 20-year-old Palestinian-American man they say was beaten to death Friday by Israeli settlers in the West Bank has called on the U.S. State Department to investigate the incident.

Palestinian authorities and family members said Israeli settlers beat and killed a Palestinian-American man. Israel said the violence began when Palestinians threw stones at Israeli civilians.
