Max Verstappen shows true opinion of Lewis Hamilton in radio message after crash
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen showed care for fellow F1 star Lewis Hamilton after the Ferrari driver crashed in qualifying on Saturday to continue a nightmare 2025 season
Then qualifying came around, with Verstappen taking pole, while Norris and Piastri complete the front row in what will be a tense final race. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton suffered a new low with Ferrari, getting knocked out in Q1 once again, despite changes to his car.
Jos Verstappen has suggested that McLaren will start feeling the heat as the season draws to a close. He pointed out that his son Max cannot clinch the title if Norris finishes second in the remaining races. However, Verstappen Snr also thinks McLaren are making an error that could prove costly.
The last time Verstappen was in a proper world championship battle was 2021, against Hamilton. Sure, in 2022, it looked like Ferrari and Charles Leclerc could challenge at the start of the season, but the Red Bull driver pulled away, later winning the title in October after a rain-soaked Japanese GP.
Lando Norris won his first Formula 1 world title on Sunday in the 2025 season finale at Abu Dhabi. Norris went into the decider with a 12-point lead over Max Verstappen and finished third in the race, all he needed to beat Verstappen and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.
