Former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has been hit with a big setback ahead of what could be his final NFL season.

Ndamukong Suh and Matthew Stafford hold the claim of beloved Detroit Lions who became Los Angeles Rams. Suh, however, turned heads with a subtle jab at his former quarterback Wednesday. Suh earned a massive amount of dollars in his career: $168 million in total.

Ndamukong Suh says he was worth more than Matthew Stafford when the two were in Detroit, but he got "the short end of the stick."

Longtime NFL defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh officially retired earlier this month, closing the book on a 13-year career that saw him win Defensive Rookie of the Year, make five Pro Bowls, be named a First Team All-Pro three times and win Super Bowl LV.

The Detroit Lions chose not to sign Ndamukong Suh to a second contract after his rookie deal expired a decade ago, and the former All-Pro defensive tackle feels the logic for that decision was flawed.

One of the better defensive linemen in not only recent Lions history, but recent NFL history, Ndamukong Suh recently announced his retirement after 13 seasons, having been out of the league since playing part of the 2022 season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Detroit, in my opinion, when I first came out, really gave me the short end of the stick. I should have been paid more than Matthew Stafford,” Suh said. “They didn’t value me enough, to say, ‘Hey, you’re not going to get paid more than our quarterback.’”
