Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Luis Ortiz has been placed on paid leave over a reported MLB investigation into gambling. Ortiz was scheduled to start the Guardians' game Thursday night against the Cubs, but instead it'll be Joey Cantillo taking the ball for Cleveland.

Left-hander Joey Cantillo was recalled from Triple-A Columbus and will start tonight against the Cubs in Ortiz’s spot in the rotation. Ortiz was placed on a non-disciplinary leave of absence through the All-Star break today while MLB investigates information that he influenced prop bets when he was pitching for the Guardians.
