Cornell, the nation's top-ranked team, fended off the Penn State Nittany Lions' comeback in the semifinals of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

Penn State men’s lacrosse lost to No. 1 seed Cornell, 11-9, in the NCAA semifinal Saturday afternoon in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Big Red will now move on to Monday’s national championship to play the winner of a Syracuse-Maryland matchup.

Penn State certainly was not a huge favorite to make it to this point, having lost in the Big Ten Semifinals to the Maryland Terrapins. However, the Nittany Lions picked things up in the national tournament, beating Colgate and Notre Dame to get to the semifinals for the third time in program history, and the second time in three seasons.
