Porsche is recalling 27,527 electric sedans in the U.S. over concerns that they may face a short circuit within the battery module, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.

Sports car manufacturer Porsche, which is a division of automotive giant Volkswagen ($DE:VOW3) is recalling 27,527 electric vehicles in the U.S.

Porsche has issued a recall of its Taycan because of a risk of the electric car's high-voltage battery experiencing a short circuit, something that could lead to a fire. The recall covers Taycans from the 2021-2024 model years,

Porsche recalled 27,720 units of the 2020-2024 Taycan due to a potential short circuit within the battery modules. Certain owners of the affected population will be instructed to charge their EV’s battery only up to 80 percent until the repair has been completed,
