Community members convened outside Mountain View City Hall on Saturday to celebrate Día de los Muertos during a city-sponsored event commemorating the lives of loved ones who have died.
The altar shimmers with colors: candles, marigolds, sugar skulls. But the heart of Día de los Muertos is built in the quiet and long hours before anyone arrives.
